How do I adjust the tempo of the guitar track I dragged and dropped into my recording software?
I recorded this guitar track on my Tascam DP-008 and I dragged and dropped one of the files into my Acid Pro 8.0 software (lame, i know). however the drum track that i originally imported onto my Tascam to record guitar over, doesn’t match the tempo of the guitar track i recorded. How do I adjust the tempo of the guitar track to match the drum track?
Well, as per usual with Sony software products, the User’s Manual for ACID Pro 8.0 is NOT very user friendly. http://sony-246.vo.llnwd.net/dspcdn/manuals/musicstudio80_qsg_enu.pdf – Not one of the occurrences of the word tempo actually explains how you might change the tempo although some of those occurrences do talk about changing tempo none of them actually show you how to do it. I know how to do it in Pro Tools but, that won’t help you with Acid. Whenever you work with imported audio tracks you will have tempo problems with most recording software. My advise is to record it over in Acid using the correct tempo. That will be faster than trying to contact the folks at Acid Support to tell them their manual is not very good and ask them how to do what you need to do. The reality is, that since it’s a difficult thing to do in software, Sony Acid probably does that have that feature. If you know anyone who has Pro Tools, they may be able to do it for you! If they know how. But, it’s still faster to rerecord it in Acid. Besides, you can always use the practice, right?
